Last Minute Halloween Costumes

I don't know about you, but Halloween has crept on me this year. I just bought a bag full of candy (for myself, not trick or treaters) and made some "bloody" dagger cupcakes (Instagramed). But that's pretty much as far as I've gotten this year, unless you count the recent hours I've been putting in lately on Hulu watching Elvira and nineties horror films...

So what's a girl supposed to do at the last minute?

Don't fear, here are a few Tomboy Chic approved costumes just dying (get it?) to be worn.

Cara Delevingne

My recent Cara-DKNY post got me thinking about how great a Cara Halloween costume would be. Think about it, you get to wear sportswear and make funny faces all night--I'm in.

If you're not already blessed with long hair, consider a long blond wig. Otherwise, don't forget to bush up those brows and watch a smoky eye tutorial, or go crazy with some eyeliner. I think her most well-known look is her sporty one, so grab your jersey, some leggings, and boots. Finish it off with a beanie.

Vacationer

A stereotypical vacationer (IE: vacationer from hell) is something I've wanted to do for years. Grab a Hawaiian shirt, some high waisted "Mom" jeans, and a fanny pack and you're basically good to go. Up the ante, with some jelly sandals, sunscreen, and a camera (or in this case, a camera purse).

Bonus props for going as a zombie vacationer.

Evil Kenevil.

I love the feeling of the fresh air on my face and the wind blowing through my hair

Let's face it, there's nothing more badass than getting to wear a cape and jumping over things. If you're afraid of heights in real life, don't worry because Halloween is all about facing your fears and becoming the king (or in our case, queen) of daredevil jumps.

Start by grabbing a cape and a jumpsuit. Finish the look off with a helmet (safety first guys), boots, and a patriot touch like a flag pin. Don't forget to grab a toy motorcycle... Just in case anyone wants to see a few tricks.

Dog Pageant Contestant

Really, this costume is just an excuse to watch Best in Show on repeat. But, honestly, nothing is more fun than being a character on Halloween, and I love the idea of being an intense animal-grooming pageant fanatic. (Okay, I guess you can be as fanatic as you'd like).

You're going to want to show off your love for dogs in subtle ways--a sweater for example, or maybe some socks, and of course there's always jewelry. Next, go for the pageant attire--don't act like you haven't seen them on Thanksgiving after the parade... Think blazers and khaki pants along with a nice pair of loafers. Lastly, grab your favorite pooch--I love the idea of a stuffed animal (hey, he was sold to you perfectly made) and a leash.

Well, that's all folks. I hope you have a wonderful, candy-filled Halloween!
