Copying Kendra

I'm not going to lie, I love The Girls Next Door, and yes, I'm probably the only person who still whips out her DVDs to re-watch it sporadically.

While watching a few episodes last week, I realized... DUH! Kendra! Her style has evolved since The Girls Next Door, but she's still a tomboy. While her updated look is very chic, I decided to create a post based off her look from the show. Check it out and maybe it'll inspire your next outfit.

Copying Kendra

Since Kendra is from San Diego, I had to give her a Chargers shirt. I picked one from Victoria Secret so it would be a little bit sexier than a regular jersey. Next, is a pair of wide-leg bootcuts. I'm not sure what jeans she actually wears, but I thought these flared ones by Citizens of Humanity were perfect. Kendra often paired her tees and jeans with stilettos--even when she was going out. Usually, her heels would be strappy and have some sort of glitter accent. Kendra doesn't accessorize as much as Holly or Bridgette, but she does always carry a purse. I kept it basic with this Vince Camuto Avery Crossbody. On the show, and even now, Kendra always rocked black eyeliner and a nude, glossy lip. To achieve this, I thought and this nude Aerin gloss would be perfect along with a black kohl eyeliner. And of course, you can't be Kendra without your stunna shades.

Last Minute Ways to Celebrate Halloween

Last Minute HalloweenUsually, I'm all about Halloween--it's my favorite holiday. But this year, I just haven't really been feeling it (mainly due to fiances).  However, it couldn't be Halloween without some officially Halloween post. Here are some last-minute ideas to get a little festive.

There are a ton of cute Halloween phone cases by DS Ucase. These make a super easy way to get a little extra creepy and festive (and some I wouldn't mind using year round). // Cameos are back in a big way, but this Lolita Skull necklace from Etsy is an unique (and much less tacky) Halloween necklace. // Halloween nail wraps. Enough said. // For those who don't mind spending a little extra dough--or those who love Halloween and are always looking for new ideas--I love these Jeffrey Campbell Glow n the Dark Litas. // For those who want some extra sweetness on Halloween, these adorable Halloween-inspired hair bows will do just the thing. // Skeleton and horror lovers are sure to go all out on Halloween day. Add a bit of scare to your outfit (pre-costume) with these X-Ray Socks. // Spider earrings are a cute and easy way to show just enough Halloween spirit in the office.  // Halloween candle any one? // Instead of worrying about staying warm in your costume every time you open the door for trick or treaters, keep it a little bit more cozy with this Halloween sweatshirt (and yes, I would still rock this year round). // And finally, if nothing else, at least get yourself a special sweet treat.

Stealing from the Guys: James McAvoy

James

James McAvoy is one of my favorite actors and as been for some time. (I'm also above and beyond psyched about Frankenstein coming out next year). He's usually seen wearing darker layers or he's on the red carpet in a suit. I wanted to keep an effortlessly cool vibe with layers, and I was majorly influenced by the photo I used of him in the vest.

Victoria Beckham Boyfriend Cut Jeans // Sass & Bide Thistles & Weeds Bracelet because you can't be a true Scot without some thistles //  John Masters Bourbon Vanilla & Tangerine Hair Texturizer for perfectly tousled hair // J. Crew Boy Shirt in Polka Dot // Bandolino Booties are both dressy and cool // J. Tomson Vest

Shopping in the Men's Depmartment

Let's be honest--there are separate departments at clothing stores and you are expected to stick in your designated one, but I've always found that silly especially when some products are just better in the other zone. I always shopped comfortably in both the women's and men's departments--especially when I'm at thrift stores. While I usually look around at everything, there are a few particular things I'm always interested in. Here's what I crossover for:

1. T-Shirts because classic band shirts are always better in the men's department (and way more comfy). 2. Flannel Shirts at the thrift store are cozy and look great under sweaters or cinched at the waist with a belt. 3. Coats... because once again, the quality is usually better. 4. PJ Bottoms for warm and cozy legs while sleeping or lounging in the winter. 5. Jeans because a boyfriend jean isn't really a boyfriend jean unless they're from the men's department.

Mens

Same goes with the boy's department. For places like Zara and J.Crew, I love getting a little extra discount by just heading towards the boys departments. And usually the quality it is better too! At the boy's department, since my feet are small enough, I usually get socks and shoes. But, I also check out the sweaters (and obviously, size depends on which store you're shopping at) and sunglasses (I have a petite sized face too).

Do you ever "switch" departments?
