Inspiration: Frida

I think everyone needs a little bit of inspiration once in a while, and I am one of those people right now. I've been feeling funky about writing, my clothes, and well a lot of whats around me. Whenever I get into one of these moods, I try to find inspiration--sometimes in the unexpected, and others in people I adore. This time, I decided to go with Frida.

Frida Kahlo shouldn't need an introduction of any kind. But I chose her because I love her artwork, her story, and well, her bright and fascinating clothing. So I figured she'd be perfect right now for my artist and fashion blues.

For this look I took a few Frida basics (the jewelery, flower headbands, colors, skirts) and gave it my own twist. Overall I'm quite happy with this look. It's fun and bright and playful. And yes, I did buy the t-shirt...

Sorry I've been a little MIA. I graduated this weekend :). So yes, I am now proudly hold a Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing. Between that and fam visiting and starting my new (well, old) job, I didn't have as much time as I hoped to blog this month. But don't fear! Yes, You Can Wear Leather Jackets in Summer/Spring

One of my favorite articles of clothing is a nice leather jacket. I've been thinking about finally getting one as a graduation present for myself. But, I was trying to think of how I could wear it during the hotter months.  So here's a few ways that I came up with.

Look one: Leather jacket + black tank + sequin mini + boots = effortlessly sophisticated outfit for a night out.

Look two: Leather jacket + demin shorts + sandals = an updated summer look.

                 (jacket: Belstaff, shorts: Allsaints, sandals: Woshilailai)

Look three: Leather jacket + lace dress + neon sneakers = a fun look for weekend brunch/errand running.

                   (jacket: Allsaints, dress: Allsaints, sneakers: Keds)

(If you can't tell, I'm on a bit of an Allsaints kick right now).

So how do you wear your jacket? All seasons or just in the fall/winter?
